thanks to someone's complaints, the temperature in the lecture theatre was lowered considerably today. those who chose a more "singaporean" way of dressing (sleeveless, three-quarters/skirt and slippers) instantly froze. people were buying hot drinks to warm their hands and i could see the steam clearly rising from the drink. so a million thanks to those who said the lt was too hot, too stuffy. we've now officially entered the ice age.

a respected local newspaper recently scared the -toot- out of me by giving this definition of conjunctivitis: "as its name suggests, the condition is caused by a virus." i was like, where's mama robbins?! have i forgotten the definition of conjunctivitis? turns out i was all right, the suffix -itis does not refer to a viral infection, but to an inflammation, which any good student of pathology knows, is not necessarily caused by an infection. so there, yet another piece of misinformation available to the gullible public, who could be expected to bang on doctors' doors and demand miracle cures.

went to see the perfect catch with hweech, fish and nimi. funny show, with a huge baseball theme, so i don't think any of us really appreciated the world series rant. drew barrymore scores yet another hit, though she looks a tad older and more gaunt. good, rather clean fun, with a predictable plot and imho, poor editing. however this is a good flick to watch with girlfriends and gush over the goofy, good-looking guy who'll scrub your toilet on your first date. cheers to the house boy.
