Random Thoughts

mumbler has been really busy at the grand ol' dame. lots of cases, and other exciting non-medical stuff too. saw my first kartegener's and symptomatic myasthenia gravis ("can you all stoop down, my eyes are tired from looking up at you"), and heard a whole lot of murmurs. heh.

what else?
  • a dear friend's got some recent good news, so i'm extremely happy for her.
  • haven't really laid out grad trip plans - which probably doesn't matter that much since i want to travel within this region anyway, but the idea that nothing is planned is really bugging me.
  • received my employment package today - will have to change my plans re:postings because they've changed the format, and i'm very puzzled as to why they're asking me for my 'o' level results and class of driving licence. what has that got to do with being a doctor?
  • am a bit disappointed with what i've seen recently. i mean, isn't it not right to try and examine a patient who's in quite a lot of discomfort and pain even though the patient is a "good case"? there's more stuff i could blog about, but this being a public blog, i shall stop here. you never know who might pounce on your words and blow it up. think forum page letter, school admins, minister of state. there was a time when i might have been more actively involved in discussions, but at this point of my life, i'd like to be left alone, thank you very much. to qualify myself, it doesn't happen very often, so don't quote me.
  • doesn't it make your blood boil when you see things like this? a girl is married off at ten to repay a debt her father owed and it's wrong and unfair to think she's too young? and does the judge honestly think that the middle age man will stand by his pledge to not have sex with her till she reaches puberty? the whole pledge thing is such a joke. a man his age should be adopting the girl, not marrying her! it's very sad to see things like this, because a woman's life is worth so much more than what these men deem it to be.
that's all for now. chinese new year is coming up! yay! food, food and more food. i'll try not to get sick this time. haha.
